Please see below limitations
- ESM models and the ESM Atlas are intended to support research, discovery, and hypothesis generation.
- Structures, annotations, similarity scores, cluster assignments, and other outputs generated by ESM models or in the ESM Atlas are computational predictions or model-derived inferences that are not experimentally validated and should not be interpreted as establishing evolutionary, phylogenetic, functional, clinical, diagnostic, or therapeutic conclusions without independent validation.
- ESM model outputs may vary in reliability depending on the target, sequence context, available training data, and protein characteristics, including for underrepresented lineages, short sequences, and intrinsically disordered proteins.
- Searching the ESM Atlas uses an AI agent that may generate inaccurate or incomplete responses.
